Go to www.zabasearch.com and search under Mr. Leshin's full name. That will give you contact information.

By going to http://www.bcpa.net/index.cfm?page=search it appears that Mr. Leshin's entire enterprise, check out that building on their home page, is operated from his home. No problem with that, but I get the impression that he may be trying to mislead his viewers. Imagine that...

OK, I'll start things off in "Telemarketing-Legal" with a new topic.

This topic concerns calls from Quebec 514-958-0000.

I've gotten several calls with "Quebec 514-958-0000" comming up on Caller ID.

Some of the calls have been abandoned (the caller hangs up when I answer), and some of the calls have delivered prerecorded messages.  The prerecorded messages have been on behalf of Summer Bay Resort and DirecTV.

Anyone know who is billed for 514-958-0000?  The areacode/exchange 514-958 appears to be in Canada, and it appears to be unassigned.  But there also appear to be some businesses using this areacode/exchange.

Every time I get a call from that number (And I've received a lot of them)it's a recording trying to get me to sign up with Dish Network.

We're looking for the name of the company calling and puting through 514-958-0000 on caller ID. It's not Dish Network that is calling. One of Dish Network's authorized dealers contracted with someone else to make the calls. If you get a call back name or number for the Dish Network authorized reseller, and post it here, then we can go to them and find out who they hired to make the calls....

I had 3 calls today from this number. The first caller hung up, the second call, I was able to 'press 1' and speak to someone.

It was a satelite tv sales pitch. He asked some questions, I answered enough for him to believe I was interested... and told him I wanted some answers before I gave any more information. That if I were going to buy a washing machine I'd want to ask some questions first also.

He said they are located in San Diego "but are nationwide". I asked more questions and he said to go to their website which should answer most of my questions, and then to call the 800 number and ask for him.

I believe the company might be American Satelite

Hi,

I've been getting telephone calls from 514-958-0000 3 times a day for 2 weeks! I finally got to speak to someone. If you're really nice to the guys that call you, you find out alot more than blasting the poor schmuck with insults and then hanging up.

He's a real nice guy named Curt Cubbreth and he works for North American BankCard. He told me that his company does a lot of financial programs where they farm out business like debt consolidation, bank debit cards, handle merchant accounts for retailers accepting credit cards, and do direct telemarketing for "allied" partners such as DirectTV, Discover Card Platinum, Walt Disney World Cruises, Trump Casinos, and a few other sellers who rely on the credit card business for sales.

Curt explained to me that their marketing department operates out of Quebec and arranges telemarketing for a number of allied outside clients, including advertising firms that sub-sub-contract their telemarketing. That means that some advertisers sub-contract different ad campaigns to other advertisers who then subcontract to a third marketing company.

He was very nice and mailed me a lot of information about his company, their telemarketing program, and said they do not call anyone on the do-not-call-list. They have a firm policy about that and accept complaints without question.

When you contact them, please tell them your name and telephone number so that they will stop calling you. If you call up and yell at them and say something like, "Stop calling me, leave me alone, f____k off", then hang up without leaving your number, they have no way of knowing what number to take off their call list.

He also mentioned that his marketing director's name is Wendell Harkness. Mr. Harkness lives in Quebec and commutes to Troy once a month.

You can reach North American BankCard at 969 Chicago Road, Troy, MI 48083 and you can call them at 800-226-2273. Their incoming fax number is (248) 283-6116 and (248) 269-2222. Curt told me that you can register your complaints with webmaster@nabancard.com and direct your inquiries to their marketing director who will promptly handle your complaints and stop the calls from Quebec.

Back Fire
We may never get to the owners of 514-958-0000.

This is just a dialing service . But if you do answer and get a sales person play along with them to find out on whos behalf they are calling. I finally figured out that my last 10 calls have been for Marrik Dish Co. Seeking to sell me Dish Network. The guy gave me the number to a gay sex line to get removed from their list. (no offense but that is really not my preference)

Do this...everytime this monster calls if it is for Dish Network call 1-866-WITHDISH. Let them know how you feel. You can even email them from their website at www.withdish.com.

If this crap is for some other company get the info and politely let them know aswell.

Enough is enough!

Just sign up on the government's "do not call registry". Then when you get these telemarketer calls, tell them you are on the "do not call" list and if they call again, you can sue them. It does help to sign up on this government website.

I contacted FCC and filed a complant and next is the Public Utility Commission to stop this number from calling me at 5am. I suggest you all do the same to fight back

Ohio AG Sues Firm for Aiding Telemarketing Fraud
Apr 10, 2006 3:26 AM

The Ohio Attorney General announced Friday that he had brought suit against a Columbus OH-based check processor for helping Canadian telemarketers defraud residents of the state.

Attorney General James Petro said a lawsuit was filed against the owner of Integrated Check Technologies for giving “substantial support” to at least 57 telemarketing company clients in cases the companies should have flagged as fraud.

The suit charges Integrated and a subsidiary, Check Free Recovery, with assisting and facilitating deceptive telemarketing acts, processing bank debits on behalf of phone solicitors who were not registered and bonded and did not comply with solicitation laws, and processing unauthorized bank debits. It asks for injunctions against the defendants, civil penalties of $25,000 for each consumer law violation and $11,000 for each telemarketing sales rule violation, and restitution to all affected Ohio consumers.

According to Petro, Integrated took personal bank-account information acquired by the telemarketers and used that data to withdraw money from consumer accounts and often made withdrawals without consumers’ authorization or even knowledge. Petro added that even authorized withdrawals were illegal if they were based on deceptive telemarketing sales pitches.

The company should have realized the illegality of the sales pitches used by the telemarketers, 37 of whom are located in the Montreal area, because Integrated had copies of the scripts for those pitches in its possession, Petro said. He added that they clearly violated federal and state consumer protection laws by masked the sellers’ identities and misrepresenting goods and services being sold, among other violations.

I've been recieving weird calss, where when i pick up all there is is a beeping going on and off. When i pressed caller ID, most of the time if i dial *69 afterwards, it says that it  doesn't know the number, but i think, when i left it on the line long enough it found out.  One time it gave me this number, which is a manitoba(canada) area code
(204) 475 5341 and the other time it was (514) 958 0001.  It's weird because you all say that youve been recieving recorded messages, but all ive been getting are these beeps. Can someone fill me in,  these calls are coming when im asleep, in the shower, or doing other stuff, and ive nearly broken my phone out of anger.

I have been getting calls from the (204) 475 5341 phone number. I don't know if it's collection related because I haven't been made aware of owing any money. Has someone been able to find out who this phone number belongs to. I would appreciate very much if someone could post the information.

I have been getting phonecalls from (204) 475-5341 and it is NOT a telemarketer.
I tried to call this number back, but I always get "Number not in use" message. Finnaly, once I happened to be home to answer the call from this number, and it was my cousin from Croatia!
I believe that this is a local number (manitoba, Canada) that serves as a third-party when receiving calls from overseas. My cousin told me that he was using some international phone card in Croatia.
